Mudworks is a mud software system that reshapes data management and daily reporting.
MudWorks is a mud software system that changes the way drilling fluids companies do business. One of the primary jobs a mud engineer completes is creating a daily report for drill site managers, engineers, and field coordinators. Traditionally, reports were pumped out on excel (or even handwritten) where they gathered dust mites after a drilling, completion, or workover project was completed.
MudWorks reenvisions field reporting to a higher standard by collecting well data across multiple fields, leases and operators and uses it to help drilling fluids companies make better decisions. Data no longer sits uselessly on a hard drive or in a file cabinet. Our cloud-based drilling fluids software platform allows multiple users to view or work on a report at the same time. Thus, ensuring reports are transparent and accurate.
How does our mud software program work?
Management generates proposals and plans wells in the office. These projects are then approved for the field engineers to start using. Field personnel generates reports against those plans on our mud software platform. Included in the mud reports are mud checks, a robust cost tracking system, solids control analysis, volume tracking, well-bore diagrams, annular hydraulics, and customizable recaps. Our platform has all the features you would expect a mud software program to include.
Data that is created in our mud check feature is transformed into useful graphs and metrics that the engineers need to see. Our recaps summarize an entire project and show all the relevant data in a useful snapshot. We’ve found that some of our clients require more features than our standard recapping package provides. Our computer programmers can customize recap features as needed for clients.
Quickly generate field tickets that include the ability to customize pricing for clients and drop-down item options for products and services. MudWorks offers a cradle to grave solution for your well-planning and reporting needs.
Is MudWorks secure? Our mud software platform protects your data from internal and external threats.
MudWorks is safe and secure from hackers and internal theft. Our user hierarchy system allows coordinators to restrict access to all projects for field users. What does that mean? It means management can enable field engineers to see only the reports and well-plans that they are working on.
Field personnel, who can easily twist off and abscond with valuable data, only have access to the projects they were working on and not the entire database. They won’t be able to steal pricing lists or proposals and hand them over to the competition. These features ensure database security and protect valuable information from falling into a competitor’s hands.
Take advantage of our mandatory safety reporting?
Getting consistent and accurate safety reporting has always been a problem due to human nature. How do you effectively motivate a field engineer, swamped with other duties, to have a perfect safety record? Our mud software makes safety reporting mandatory to generate. How is that possible?
Before a mud man or woman can start their other reports, our software forces them to complete their safety paperwork, ensuring a perfect safety record. It’s that simple! Ask us about this feature and how we can customize your safety reporting suite that is tailored to your needs. Imagine have that arrow in your quiver when sending out proposals, that your safety participation record is 100%.
Cloud-based, data forward drilling fluids software programs are the future in the oil and gas industry.
The Oil & Gas industry has been relatively slow to embrace cloud-based technology compared to other industries. However, a lot of oilfield service companies and operators are moving towards cloud-based project management. Many of these larger companies have developed exclusive software programs that aren’t readily available to small and mid-market companies. Why should the majors be the only ones to benefit from cloud-based technologies?
Small and mid-market companies should have access to a drilling fluids software platform that enables them to glean actionable and meaningful insight from data. The ability to identify trends, anomalies, and find opportunities to get smarter and leaner is paramount, especially in unpredictable oil & gas markets. Imagine having the tools to predict future performance, maximize profits, and optimize production all wrapped into a mud software dashboard that takes an owner or office coordinator to the right data at the right time.
How MudWorks began.
What is the true value of MudWorks cloud-based drilling fluids software? It’s all in the code that we’ve built over the years, the platform itself. The ability to customize features to fit clients needs quickly didn’t happen overnight. MudWorks started as the brainchild of ex-Chevron engineers who developed the mothership product called WellWorks. WellWorks is a software program that allowed engineers to plan wells and estimate service contractor bids and predict AFE’s. The engineers plan wells, and the drill site managers report against the plan.
Before the oil price collapse in 2015, the team of software programmers and drilling engineers realized that the more features they built, the more the reports were customizable to oilfield service industries. With the help of the first drilling fluids client, the team built out an entire mud reporting system. Mudworks, as we see it today, was built during this time. Then the crash happened, and MudWorks sat dormant with the one client faithfully planning, reporting, and collecting precious data. When the industry started picking back up, we added more clients and have found that each one has slightly different needs. We’re proud of the fact that we can react, create, and program to satisfy each one, whether their work is in Bakersfield, Wyoming or Texas.
Coming soon – an inventory management system that is fully compatible with MudWorks.
What are we working on right now? We are developing a stock point standalone feature that manages drilling fluids products as they enter and leave the warehouse. This feature will ensure shipments are processed through a variety of tracking systems such as QR code technology, serial number readers, and manual data entry. If a shipment arrives in the field and the unit numbers are incorrect, field engineers will be able to dispute a delivery and send the digital request back to the warehouse until they get it right.
Why is this feature going to be so valuable? Our warehouse tracking program, along with MudWorks, will be able to show ordering trends when compared to actual product usage trends. This will enable management to make better ordering decisions on the fly when they can see past trends and project out to the future. A big problem in the drilling fluids business model is having extra inventory sitting on the warehouse floor instead of going towards revenue. We aim to help solve this problem with our stock point project, ensuring that our clients get a cradle-to-grave drilling fluids software product.
