Mudworks is a drilling fluids software system that revolutionizes daily reporting and data management.
MudWorks is a drilling fluids software program that changes the way mud companies operate. Every day the mud engineer creates a report for drill site managers, engineers, and field coordinators. Traditionally, reports were handwritten or generated on excel where they collected dust after a drilling, workover, or completion project was long completed.
MudWorks takes field reporting to a higher level by effectively capturing well data and using it to help drilling fluids companies optimize decision making. No longer does data sit useless on a hard drive or in a file cabinet. Our cloud-based drilling fluids software system makes it easy for multiple people to work on a report at the same time. Thus, enabling transparency and ensuring reports are accurate and useful.
How does our drilling fluids software program work?
MudWorks is a drilling fluids software program that allows management to plan wells in the office and send them to field engineers. Field personnel generates reports against those plans on our cloud-based platform. Well-plans are created by office management, making an estimated AFE and activate for field use. Mud engineers can fill out their mud reports, which include a robust cost tracking system, volume tracking, solids control analysis, annular hydraulics, well-bore diagrams, and customizable recaps. We have everything you would expect a drilling fluids software program to include.
Data generated in our mud check section populate useful graphs and metrics that the engineers love to see. Our recaps detail the project as a whole and show all the necessary data in a snapshot. If you want more features in a recap, then our team of computer programmers can easily accommodate customization needs.
Quickly generate field tickets that have custom pricing for your clients and drop down options for any service or product. Tax rates can be applied or omitted from individual cost items. MudWorks offers a cradle to grave solution for your well-planning and reporting needs.
What about Security? MudWorks is a drilling fluids software program that protects your data from hacking and internal theft.
MudWorks is entirely secure and safe from online theft and hacking. We also implement a user hierarchy system that allows managers to restrict access to field engineers. What does that mean? It means management can enable field engineers to see only the wells, projects, and reports that they are working on.
Field engineers, who can easily quit and take valuable data, only have access to the projects they were working on and not the entire database. They won’t be able to steal valuable pricing lists or well plans for the competition. These features ensure database security and protect valuable information from falling into a competitor’s hands.
How are we revolutionizing safety reporting?
Let’s be honest; getting accurate and consistent safety reporting has always been a problem because of human nature. How do you effectively motivate a busy field engineer to have a perfect safety record? We are proud to say that we make safety reporting mandatory to generate. Before a field hand can start their other reports, they must complete their safety reports, ensuring a perfect safety record. Ask us about this feature and how we can customize your safety reporting suite that is tailored to your needs. Imagine having that feather in your cap when sending out proposals that your safety participation record is 100%.
Cloud-based, data forward drilling fluids software programs are the future in the oil and gas industry.
The Oil & Gas industry as a whole has been relatively slow to embrace cloud-based technology, but a lot of major operators and oilfield service companies are moving in this direction. Many of these larger companies have developed in-house software programs that are not available to small and mid-market companies. Why should the majors be the only ones to benefit from cloud-based technologies?
Small and mid-market companies should have access to a drilling fluids software platform that enables them to glean meaningful, actionable insight from data. The ability to identify anomalies and trends and find opportunities to get leaner and smarter is paramount, especially in volatile oil & gas markets. Imagine having the tools to predict future performance, optimize production, and maximize profits all wrapped into a software dashboard that takes an owner or manager to the right data at the right time.
How MudWorks began.
What is the true value of MudWorks cloud-based drilling fluids software? It’s all in the code that we’ve built over the years, the platform itself. The ability to customize features to fit clients needs quickly didn’t happen overnight. MudWorks started as the brainchild of ex-Chevron engineers who developed the mothership product called WellWorks. WellWorks is a software program that allowed engineers to plan wells and estimate service contractor bids and predict AFE’s. The engineers plan wells, and the drill site managers report against the plan.
Before the oil price collapse in 2015, the team of software programmers and drilling engineers realized that the more features they built, the more the reports were customizable to oilfield service industries. With the help of the first drilling fluids client, the team built out an entire mud reporting system. Mudworks, as we see it today, was built during this time. Then the crash happened, and MudWorks sat dormant with the one client faithfully planning, reporting, and collecting precious data. When the industry started picking back up, we added more clients and have found that each one has slightly different needs. We’re proud of the fact that we can react, create, and program to satisfy each one, whether their work is in Bakersfield, Wyoming or Texas.
Coming soon – an inventory management system that is fully compatible with MudWorks.
What are we working on right now? We are developing a stock point standalone feature that manages drilling fluids products as they enter and leave the warehouse. This feature will ensure shipments are processed through a variety of tracking systems such as QR code technology, serial number readers, and manual data entry. If a shipment arrives in the field and the unit numbers are incorrect, field engineers will be able to dispute a delivery and send the digital request back to the warehouse until they get it right.
Why is this feature going to be so valuable? Our warehouse tracking program, along with MudWorks, will be able to show ordering trends when compared to actual product usage trends. This will enable management to make better ordering decisions on the fly when they can see past trends and project out to the future. A big problem in the drilling fluids business model is having extra inventory sitting on the warehouse floor instead of going towards revenue. We aim to help solve this problem with our stock point project, ensuring that our clients get a cradle-to-grave drilling fluids software product.
