The MudWorks Story
Mudworks is a cloud-based, drilling fluids software platform that manages mud reports, inventory management, cost tracking, annular hydraulics, analytics and much more. Our primary company goals are to put customer service first and provide the ability for clients to customize features within the Mudworks software platform to fit their unique needs. We pride ourselves on having the most flexible and cost-effective drilling fluids software platform currently on the market.
Mudworks has logged over 2000 wells, created and completed by field engineers all over the world and we look forward to forming partnerships with drilling fluids companies (small, medium, and large) who want to move past outdated spreadsheet-based reporting systems.
Owner and software architect Carter Krummrich was part of the original design team in 2014 and purchased the company in 2018. With over ten years of experience in the field and front offices, Carter has a fundamental understanding of drilling operations. His real-world experience, combined with the computer programming expertise his team of software engineers brings to the table allows Mudworks to be a cutting edge planning and reporting product for drilling fluids companies in the U.S. and global markets.
Mudworks has been active in the field since 2014, but its roots go back to the 1980s. The genesis of Mudworks’ drilling fluids software can be traced back to a group of drilling and completions engineers who needed an answer to a problem – How quickly and accurately could an engineer bid and execute drilling, workover, and completions projects that required fixed and daily expenditures?
These engineers created a platform called Wellworks that drill site managers have been using for decades to control costs and complete upstream oil and gas projects successfully. In 2014, our development team took the parts of this software platform designed for drilling engineers and transformed it into a cutting edge cloud-based software product specifically tailored towards drilling fluids companies.
The Mudworks team realizes that drilling operations can look a lot different in different parts of the world. A client who’s activities exist mostly in Bakersfield will need different features than a client who drills in the Powder River Basin in Wyoming. We’ve found that each client has unique needs and we and making sure that we are a phone call away to discuss and implement new features. From tweaking volume accounting recaps to designing mandatory field safety reports, our team works directly with management teams and field engineers to create a valuable and lasting product.
